PLAYERS GUILD THEATRE PROUDLY PRESENTS RAGTIME THE MUSICAL

The Players Guild Theatre and Tracy Stadelman in Honor of Her Mother, Diana L. Stadelman are proud to present the three-time Tony Award® -winning musical, RAGTIME!

At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing… and anything is possible. Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, three distinctly American tales are woven together – that of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician – united by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future. Together, they confront history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America.

For this upcoming production of RAGTIME THE MUSICAL, the Players Guild has assembled a power-house cast of talented actors which includes:

Christopher Gales, who is returning home to Canton from NYC to reprise his role as Coalhouse Walker Jr. Guild favorite, Joy Ellis, will portray Coalhouse’s love interest, Sarah.  Additionally, PGT Resident Director, Jonathan Tisevich, will play the role of immigrant-turned filmmaker, Tateh.  Best known for her Guild roles, Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD and Lucy in JEKYLL AND HYDE, Heidi Swinford will play the role of Mother.  Another Guild favorite, Sarah Marie Young, will play Vaudeville star, Evelyn Nesbitt and PGT Producing Artistic Director, Joshua Erichsen, will portray famed escape artist, Harry Houdini.  Olivia Wimberly (who wowed critics with her take on the Emcee in last season’s CABARET) will play anarchist, Emma Goldman, and Mark Dilliard will play the role of Booker T. Washington.  In addition, Donald Jones (best known for playing the role of Ebenezer Scrooge) will play Grandfather, and Guild new-comers Christopher Hager and Ian Lawrence will take on the roles of Father and Younger Brother.
