Last Call for Auditions for MassMu’s Dear Mother and All

Auditions for the Massillon Museum’s upcoming play, Dear Mother and All by Sandra Perlman, will be held on Monday, August 7, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., at the Museum.
This full-length play, first produced by the Museum in 1988, is the true story of a Massillon soldier during World War I. Letters between Charles Vernon Brown and his family share details of daily life. The complete collection of correspondence is preserved in the Museum’s permanent collection. The 2017 production will complement the Museum’s Stark County in the Great War exhibition, which will be on view through Veterans Day weekend.
The cast will include 10 males and 10 females, ages 16 and older. Rehearsals will begin in August at the Museum for the performance on Sunday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m., at the Lincoln Theatre in downtown Massillon. For more information, contact director Dave Harding at 330-837-1829 or email him at
Funding for the production—an effort to inspire a community theatre initiative—is provided in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities; Exploring the Human Endeavor and is aligned with the 20/20 Massillon Vision plan, facilitated by ArtsinStark. The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council and ArtsinStark.
The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East (Ohio Route 172) in downtown Massillon. A visit to the Massillon Museum is always free. Free parking is available on adjacent streets and in nearby city lots.  For more information, call the Museum at 330-833-4061 or visit
