Ahh Gallery Opens Aviation Show on October 8

On Thursday October 8 from 5 – 8 pm, the Arts and History Gallery will open an exhibit of aviation artifacts and art by Douglas Curtiss and Sherry Lee Boggs. The show will feature photographs, military models, uniforms, ammunition boxes, and airplane parts — as well as pencil art that celebrates aviation history. In addition, the Historical Society will present an exhibit on the local aviation history of Louisville. For almost a year now, the Arts & History Gallery (120 East Main), or “Ahh Gallery,” has been offering the community arts and history exhibits as a project of the Louisville -Nimishillen Historical Society.

Sherry Boggs began studying art at the age of eleven. Her personal goal is to capture the spirit and imagination of aviators throughout history. She has been the featured artist at numerous air shows, and her art has been displayed in Canada, England, and Italy. Together Doug and Sherry present their artifact collection and artwork under the name of the 48th Maintenance Company. The Aviation Show will run through mid-November, and Veterans Day will fall on November 11.

The Ahh Gallery is part of 20/20 Vision Louisville, an economic development project of ArtsinStark, the Louisville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Louisville. 20/20 Vision Louisville is a plan for transforming three blocks on East Main Street downtown into “Constitution Place.”
